Equifax Canada’s Commitment to Protecting Our Clients, Consumers, and the Canadian Ecosystem

octobre 06, 2026

TORONTO, ON (October 6, 2026) - As the country’s largest data trust, Equifax Canada takes our role as custodians of data seriously which is why we invest in having a dedicated, Canada-based security team. For us, security isn't just a priority — it’s a powerful business enabler that helps us innovate safely and rapidly.  In 2025, we outperformed all major industry benchmarks for the sixth consecutive year, as outlined in our 2025 Security Annual Report, as well as our Canada Security Addendum.

As Canada’s only Cloud-native credit bureau, our differentiated data, cutting-edge technology, and AI expertise uniquely position us to redefine cybersecurity and protect Canadians.

A security strategy for Canada

In 2025, Equifax Canada's Security program achieved breakthrough results in fraud prevention and consistent governance aimed at powering us forward by:

  • Protecting Businesses and Consumers: Fraud and Security teams work side-by-side to help businesses and consumers combat frauds and scams. The FraudIQ™ Exchange consortium data and other Equifax data sources have prevented an estimated $3B in fraud losses annually. The power of the consortium leverages millions of fraud signals from some of the largest institutions in the country. We also enhanced our Consumer Protection offerings by adding Equifax Complete™ Protection to our Equifax Complete suite of credit monitoring and identity restoration services. Equifax Complete products help more than 700,000 Canadians protect themselves and recover from fraud and/or identity theft.
  • Working together to fight fraudsters: Equifax Canada collaborates with the RCMP’s National Cybercrime Coordination Centre (NC3) and 27 financial, technology, and telecommunications organizations. In 2025 we used FraudIQ to execute 3,000 disruptive actions against the tools and networks of fraudsters and cybercriminals.  We also joined more than 40 of the country’s leading financial, telecommunications and government organizations in the Canadian Anti-Scam Coalition to help Canadians Stop, Check, Talk in order to protect themselves and their families from fraudsters.
  • Putting security first: Equifax Canada outperforms all major industry benchmarks. We actively align with Canadian federal and provincial laws and regulations and partner with external parties to ensure alignment to deliver the best possible security posture to our business.

Whether it’s using Agentic AI to auto-resolve issues so we can stay laser-focused on tracking complex issues, or deploying AI-powered engines to transform unstructured threat reports into actionable simulated attacks, Equifax Canada is leading the way in cybersecurity. By actively deploying and operationalizing the power of AI we deliver unparalleled protection for our clients and Canadians today, and in the future.
