Introducing the “Search and find” feature
We would like to thank those of you who took the time to respond to our survey regarding the implementation of the Confidence Level Indicator on November 1. Your candid feedback is valuable to us!
Through the survey responses, we learned that many of you are using the Equifax service for identification purposes and that, sometimes, searching flexibility is more important than matching accuracy. We want you to know that we heard you. As a result, we are pleased to announce the “Search and find” feature.
Beginning December 14, we will give you the choice. From the report inquiry page, and by selecting the appropriate check box, you will be able to access the same inquiry page you previously used, with no mandatory fields.
We recommend that you use this option for identification purpose only. Because you will not input all the necessary data, the CLI returned will be very low and may not result in an exact match. You will, however, be able to easily search for a company within our database. We are confident that this new feature will address your need to search for a company when only partial information is available.
By offering two options for searching, we are empowering you to choose the alternative that best meets your business needs. Select the Best Match option on the report inquiry page when you have complete business identification information and an accurate match is critical to your decision making. Select the Search and find option when you have only partial information and need to simply identify that a business exists within the database.
